Yummy smells!

I've been looking for a new perfume to buy.
Scents I love include: citrus & floral smells and crisp, clean smells.
Aeropostale perfume is one of my favorites.

It has a very clean, grapefruit/mandarin smell that lasts all day.
Also, 'Pretty' by Elizabeth Arden. the smell is so feminine and sweet.

I couldn't really describe it but this is how the makers do:
"Top Notes – Italian Mandarin Orpur, Orange Blossom, Peach Nectar

Middle Notes – Star Jasmine, Petalia, Pink Iris, White Peony

Dry Down – Fluffy Musk, Jacaranda Wood, Creamy Amber"

Lately, I've been sniffing and collecting the scent samples in my magazines. There are a few that I am going to try. More than likely, I will buy the smallest sizes to sample and decide. Another one I am interested in is Ed Hardy's Love & luck perfume. smells so good!!

Party planning!

A few weeks to go until Laila's birthday party! I hope the weather is good, but if not, we'll just move it inside. At first, it was a bit stressful to have to plan and make everything on my own but, now, I like it. I decide and make everything! These are the invitations I made: Photobucket

I think they look pretty cool, and I made them myself, so it's unlikely anyone has had these. Also, I made the goody bags using the templates on the Nick Jr. craft site. They have a lot of useful tips and ideas....free and printable!
So, I have the goody bags and the prizes for the few games we're playing, since she's only turning one and cant participate, are going to be these awesome Muno Balls!:

Not my idea, found it online somewhere but I cant remember what site. Might have been Gabba Friends!

That's all for now, I'll keep ya posted.

Love it!
The Very Hungry Caterpillar is one of my favorite books from way back when I was a kiddo, and it'll be around for a long time still.
40 year celebration, Eric Carle's The Very Hungry Caterpillar!

May not look like much to you but

this was so good! I was starving, didn't have much to work with and needed sustenance quick! From thought to preparation to cooking then mmmmmmm eating, it took me about 15 minutes.

Angel hair pasta with olive oil, garlic and lemon sauce, and just a bit of parsley. :)

Email posting?

this is a test.

Tween Dora

Mattel/Nick have released the picture of the new, older Dora! She wasn't going to make her big debut until Fall 09 but since there was so many parents complaining about what appeared to be a "sexed up" or "hoochie" Dora, they released it early. Good thing, too, because the teaser silhouette made it look much worse than it really is. From the silhouette picture they released, it looks as if she is wearing a mini dress or skirt, but, actually, she is wearing a cute tunic and leggings! Phew! And Mattel/Nick is reassuring us that we had it ALL wrong! Good thing! I was surprised to read that Dora the Explorer is NOT being replaced at all, this new Dora is going to be a doll for 5-8 year olds. Hook it up via USB and kids can help Dora with "new adventures involving the environment, social action and more." What a relief! What do you think??

"The idea is Dora for more girls," Brodsky says. "The whole point was this was created because moms said help us."

Any tips or comments?

My maaaaaan has an interview for a sales position in his store. He is currently a porter and basic maintenance man at a low to mid priced furniture store and through networking and hard work has been offered an entry level sales position. He has NO sales experience, and management is aware of that, and the interview is with the VP of the company!? If you are in sales, do you have any tips or advice? He is very personable, clear voiced and confident but, as said before, has no experience, so he needs to impress! Thanks guys!

The Good Wife's Guide and stumbling!

We've come a long way from this.
Photobucket

I know, it's pretty old but I still think it is hilarious/ridiculous EVERY TIME I come across this online, usually via SU. Speaking of, I am a slave to stumbling, check out some of my favorite sites here.

Mayflower, the Shetland pony.

She's got them all in a rush in Hampshire.
I thought this was so cute and funny, I had to save it on here!
What a stubby, little pony...if I was driving by, I'd call too!

FREE Harlequin book downloads!

I, for one, have read about 6 of their books...simply because I joined a focus group and they send me free books every few months to read and then complete a survey. Not entirely sure, but I think the focus group is now closed but here is something for everyone!

Harlequin is celebrating 60 years of publishing their wonderfully detailed, sometimes trashy novels. This means YOU get to download 16 free Harlequin books as .pdf files!

I love free stuff!
I love reading!
I love downloading!
I love trashy novels, sometimes.
Perfect!

&&& there is a really corny "Make Your Own Novel" feature as well... :)

The guy and I are enjoying some beers and kind of doing our own thing, while the kiddo sleeps away. He is playing 'KILLZONE 2' and I am, of course, blogging, myspacing and listening to music! It's just so nice to finally relax after a day of party planning, cleaning, laundry and caring for a sick princess!

!!!!!!!!!!!

There is just so much to do!
I've purchased most of the decorations, eating utensils, plates, cups, etc.
There will be a few things that I plan on getting done tonight,
just so I don't have to feel rushed later.

I hate feeling rushed.

GOTTA HAVE IT.

Ubuntu

I am considering switching to Ubuntu so I've begun my research. So far, I like what I am seeing, reading and hearing but, still, I continue my research. Like with anything else, it has its pro's and con's. We'll see.

I found this interesting.

One of the things I highly enjoy is researching. I'm a nerd, I know. Have you heard of Gary Chapman's Five Love Languages? There are a few variations online. I, personally, preferred sites that were more relationship based, rather than church based, but that's just me. The idea is that relationships are hard because we are not speaking in our partner's "love language." Once we figure out our respective Primary Love Language we can then use that to fill our "love tank." Really, their words.

So I looked into it, of course, and find it agreeable. You can read up on the Five Love Languages here. Then, take this little quiz and find out your love language, if you can't figure it out from the descriptions on the above site. Mine was pretty accurate.

The Five Love Languages

My Primary Love Language is Acts of Service

My Detailed Results:
Acts of Service: 10
Words of Affirmation: 9
Quality Time: 7
Receiving Gifts: 4
Physical Touch: 0

Dr. Gary Chapman shares, chapter 7, page 93;
“...and no one likes to be forced to do anything. In fact, love is always freely given. Love cannot be demanded.”
